Capacity Building for Elected Young Councilors/Local Representatives

National Youth Council of the Gambia in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will mobilise elected young councilors from across the country to participate in the seminar. The selected representatives will be trained exclusively on the content and the strategies of some of the most important documents they will be interacting with during their term of office as councilors, Local Government Act, National Youth Policy and National Development Plan as well as train on Project Proposal Development and Resource Mobilization strategies, and have a Dialogue with Stakeholders including Regional Governors, Chairpersons, Mayors, Local chief and Cabinet representatives.
The training will take the format of expert presentations, focus group discussions and plenary sessions.
The final day of the training will be a stakeholders’ dialogue to pave a way forward for meaningful youth participation in civil, political, economic and democratic processes in the New Gambia.
